New Delhi: The Central government has notified the appointment of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva as the acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The MP High Court has been functioning without a Chief Justice since May 25, 2024, subsequent to retirement of Justice Ravi Malimath.

Central Government Appoints Justice Sachdeva Amidst Judiciary Changes
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva will succeed Justice Sheel Nagu, who has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Justice Sachdeva was moved to the Madhya Pradesh High Court from the Delhi High Court in May this year upon his request.

Justice Sachdeva began his legal career by enrolling with the Bar Council of Delhi on August 1, 1988. He practiced in the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, and the District Courts of Delhi, achieving the status of Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court in 1995. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on April 17, 2013, and was made a permanent judge on March 18, 2015.
