Kafeel Khan Challenges The Termination From Brd Medical College; Allahabad Hc Seeks Govts Reply

Kafeel Khan Brd Medical College Allahabad HC

A plea has been filed by Dr. Kafeel Khan challenging his termination by the Uttar Pradesh Government, from the BRD Medical College state-run organization in Gorakhpur. On the same, the Allahabad High Court has now issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh Government on 3rd February 2022.

The state has been given 4 weeks for the counter by Justice Rajan Roy. The Uttar Pradesh government dismissed Dr. Kafeel in 2017 for the case wherein 63 children died in the hospital due to the alleged shortage of oxygen in August 2017.

Dr. Khan has contended that he was dismissed, despite the fact that he got a green signal from several investigative committees in the case. He has also submitted out of the 8 accused, all except him have been reinstated back to their services in the hospital.

Initially, he was reported to have acted as a saviour by organising the oxygen supply, and he paid for those supplies out of his pocket.

Instead of being appreciated and hailed as a hero, an FIR was lodged against him under section 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code, 1860.
