CHENNAI: The Madras High Court pulled up Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan for filing a defamation suit against Trisha and two other actors over the remarks they had made in response to his comments about his Leo co-star.
Justice N Sathish Kumar was of the view that the actor should know how to behave in public, especially when a lot of people see actors as role models. The judge even went on to say that Trisha shouldve approached the court, against Khans remarks.
The judge also criticized the actor for being involved in controversies regularly and blamed the actor for posing as innocent. The judge even expressed his doubts on whether this defamation suit was filed by Khan in order to escape from arrest.
Subsequently, Mansoor Ali Khan's advocate consented to provide the unedited version of the actor's YouTube interview and made a demand for Trisha to take down her critical post about him. The Court then deferred the matter to December 22 after asking Trisha, Khushbu and Chiranjeevi to respond to the plea.
Khan had moved the Madras High Court filing a defamation suit against actors Trisha, Chiranjeevi, and Kushboo Sundar claiming they made defamatory comments against him on social media platforms.
At a press conference to promote the Vijay- starrer Leo, Khan allegedly made misogynistic remarks along the lines of how, despite both Trisha and he were in the movie, he did not get to share screen space with her and had no "bedroom scenes" with her. Khan's statement sparked outrage, with celebrities including Chiranjeevi, Khushbu Sundar, Trisha, and the creators of Leo condemning it on X (previously Twitter).
Khan alleged that the defendant actors rushed to social media to make comments against him before verifying or ascertaining the truth and proper sequence of events. Khan argued that he hadnt said any wrong statement against his latest movie co-star, Trisha or any other woman.
