Mullaperiyar Dam supreme court saftey measures

Supreme Court to hear plea highlighting the inaction of Supervisory committee appointed by the court to take care of material and safety aspects of Mulla Periyar Dam

Justice AM Khanwilkar: let the supervisory committee decide if the release of water is needed or not. let the committee say this

Sr Adv Jaideep Gupta: we have no objection..

Justice AM Khanwilkar: no. there is nothing else to argue if we say this

SC: All political statements are being made here and such statements cannot be made in court. let there be a dispassionate approach. daily applications cannot come here. this has came to what level now? this is all generated by somebody's ingenuity and paradigm.

Gupta: but they are holding the water at a level and letting the water through if there is a rain and level raises without any notice at the middle of the night. We may be given notice 24 hours prior. homes are getting flooded

SC: We have said enough, else we will be misquoted

SC ORDER: Instead of examining grievances as made in this application, we deem it appropriate for such requests made first approach the supervisory committee before taking steps for release or management of the mullaperiyar dam

If such request is made, the committee shall consider such request expeditiously in right earnest. we say no more.  both parties shall abide by this direction.

No application shall be filed in this court for such grievances which can be sorted out consensual apporach on both sides. Main matter to be listed on January 11, 2022 after the PMLA matters.

SC: Go to committee, get it resolved
