On Monday (November 23, 2020), Mumbai court issued bail to comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya, who were arrested at their home in Mumbai after drug arrests.
The Court of Magistrates granted the couple bail on a bond of Rs 15,000 each.
Singh was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday ( November 22, 2020) while her husband was taken into custody on Sunday ( November 21, 2020) morning after ganja (cannabis) was seized from their house in suburban Andheri.
They were brought before the magistrate's court on Sunday, which has kept them in judicial custody until December 4, 2020. Through their advocate, Ayaz Khan, the couple then filed bail petitions that were posted for Monday's hearing.
The NCB recovered 86.5 gm ganja during the search at the couple's residence and office.
This is considered as 'small quantity' under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
