NEET PG Counselling: Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to mention the NEET EWS quota matter before Justice DY Chandrachud led bench today

SG: This is regarding EWS reservation. there is some urgency. Please have it tomorrow (its scheduled for Jan 6)

Justice DY Chandrachud: that is a 3 judge bench matter right?

Centre requests the SC to hear EWS quota case tomorrow citing urgency. A bench headed by Justice D Y Chandrachud said he would consult the CJI for hearing tomorrow or day after.

SG Tushar Mehta mentions plea challenging reservation for EWS in NeetPGcounselling2021 for early listing. Requests the matter to be listed tomorrow. Justice Chandrachud informs that he will request the CJI if it is possible to constitute a 3 judge bench.

The bench asks SG to inform other lawyers involved in the mater since the hearing maybe preponed. The matter was heard by a 3 judge bench of Justices Chandrachud, Surya Kant and Vikram Nath.

DYC J: I will have a word with the Chief Justice of India since Justice Surya Kant is with CJI and Justice Vikram Nath is on another bench , i will see if a special bench can be constituted to hear this

SG: There is genuine urgency

DYC J: Please inform the other advocates too. I will have a word with the CJI as soon as the day is over

Sr Adv Arvind Datar: Please allow us to file a counter to an affidavit filed by Centre
