Petition On Attack On Kashmiris After Pulwama Attack To Come Up For Hearing Tomorrow

A petition filed in the Supreme Court seeking a direction to authorities to protect Kashmiris from attacks in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror strike is to come up for hearing tomorrow i.e., February 22, 2019.

The petition filed by Tariq Adeeb, a practicing lawyer, was mentioned today (February 21, 2019) by Senior Advocate Colin Gonsalves before a Bench comprising of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices L.N. Rao and Sanjiv Khanna.

Giving details of attacks on people from Kashmir in different parts of the country, the petitioner prayed for directions to heads of institutions including educational institutions to initiate steps to protect the lives of Kashmiris and to prosecute persons who indulge in the hate speech.

Forty CRPF Personnel were killed in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Kashmir on February 14, 2019, which was allegedly carried out by banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.
