The petitioner said that Udhayanidhi Stalin, Tamil Nadu Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, at a conference organized by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Artists Association in Chennai, made alleged hate speech.
Udhayanidhi said, Few things cannot be opposed, they should be eradicated. We cant oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria or corona, we have to eradicate them. In the same way, we have to eradicate Sanatana (Sanatan Dharma), rather than opposing it."
Similarly, Nilgiris Lok Sabha MP, A Raja supported Stalins remarks comparing Sanatana Dharma with dengue and malaria and was like the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that needed to be destroyed.
