Supreme Court collegium approves the recommendation of appointment of Judges in Madhya Pradhesh and Gauhati High Court [READ STATEMENT]

Collegium is the system of appointment and transfer

Supreme court collegium has approved the proposal for elevation of Judicial officers as Judges of Madhya Pradhesh High Court. The Collegium also approved the elevation of Robhin Phukan as Judge of Gauhati High Court. 

Judges of Madhya Pradhesh so elevated:

  1. Anil Verma
  2. Arun Kumar Sharma
  3. Satyendra Kumar Singh
  4. Sunita Yadav 
  5. Deepak Kumar Agrawal
  6. Rajendra Kumar Varma

Collegium is the system of appointment and transfer of Judges that has evolved through a Judgement of Supreme Court, and not by an act of parliament or by a provision of the constitution.
