NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Union government on a plea by women lawyers body for laying down pan India guidelines, including clinical castration of the convicts, to effectively prevent crime and violence against women and children.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan sought a response from the Centre within four weeks on a PIL filed by Supreme Court's Women Lawyers Association.
