NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday modified its previous order to relax bail conditions imposed for former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to present himself before the investigating officer here on every Monday and Thursday in liquor policy scam cases.

Allowing a plea made by the AAP leader, a bench of Justices B R Gavai and K V Vishwanathan modified the previous order, holding the condition was not necessary.

The court, however, clarified Sisodia should attend the trial court regularly.
Sisodia filed an application for relaxing the bail condition.
On August 9, 2024, the apex court granted bail to Sisodia in both CBI and ED cases in view of long delay in trial and prolonged incarceration, which affected his right to liberty under Article 21 of the Constitution.
Weekly Appearances Before Investigating Officer Waived by Apex Court
Imposing the conditions for bail, the court had then directed Sisodia to appear before the investigating officer every Monday and Thursday between 10 am to 11 am.
Sisodia was arrested on February 26, 2023.
He was granted bail by the top court by seting aside the Delhi High Court's order of May 21, 2024, which declined him the bail.
