SC reconstitutes Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee Justice Hima Kohli Named Chairperson

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has reconstituted its Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee, nominating Justice Hima Kohli as its chairperson.

A notification issued on May 31, 2024 stated in exercise of powers conferred by Clause 4(2) of the Gender Sensitisation & Sexual Harassment of Women at the Supreme Court of India (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Regulations, 2013 and all enabling provisions in this behalf, the Chief Justice of India has been pleased to re-constitute the Supreme Court Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee.

While Justice Kohli has been nominated as its chairperson, Justice B V Nagarathna has been appointed as member to it.

Dr Sukhda Pritam, Additional Registrar has been nominated as member secretary to it.

Two senior Members of the Supreme Court Bar Association under Clause 4(2) (b), senior advocates Meenakshi Arora and Mahalakshmi Pavani have also nominated as members to it.

Those appointed as members in the category of nominees of the Chief Justice of India are senior advocates Jaydeep Gupta, Menaka Guruswamy, Dr Shruti Pandey, Professor of Legal Practice, Jindal Global Law School, OP Jindal Global University, and Dr Leni Chaudhuri, Executive Director, University of Chicago Centre in India Pvt Ltd.

Advocate Soumyajit Pani, and Dr Anindita Pujari have been nominated as members as representative of the Supreme Court Bar Association under Clause 4(2)(c) and representative of the Supreme Court Advocate-on-Record Association under Clause 4(2)(d) respectively.

One Madhu Chauhan has also been nominated to it as member as representative of the Supreme Court Bar Clerks' Association under Clause 4(2)(e).
