SC tags NTAs transfer petition with the pending pleas to hear plea on Thursday

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday tagged a transfer petition filed by the National Testing Agency with a pending matter related to irregularities in NEET UG, 2024 and seeking re-test of medical entrance examination.

A bench of Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra that the court would hear the matter along with that of Vanshika Yadav and others on Thursday, July 18.

"We will look at it on Thursday," the bench said.

The NTA counsel submitted that the court should issue notice in the Transfer petition, as the HC of Rajasthan was proceeding in the matter.

On this, the bench issued notice to various parties and tagged it with other matters pending before it.

The court at present is in seisin of pleas related to NEET-UG examination, conducted by NTA on May 5 for admission into MBBS, BDS and AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.

The Centre has recently, in its affidavit, filed before the top court stated that data analytics by IIT Madras showed no mass malpractice in the exam. The NTA told the SC that the video showing NEET paper peak In Telegram app was fake.
