Sri Krishna Janmabhumi Dispute: "Demolish Mosque in Return of Larger Piece of Land": Sri Krishna Janmabhumi Mukti Aandolan Samiti to Mathura Court

By Nancy Goyal      26 June, 2021 03:00 PM      0 Comments
Sri Krishna Janmabhumi Dispute:

The application has been moved by a Hindu Religion outfit named Sri Krishna Janmabhumi Mukti Aandolan Samiti before the Mathura Court to offer a piece of land to the Muslim Mosques Management Committee which is larger than the one on which 17th century Shahi Masjid allegedly stands inside the Katra Keshav Dev temple complex.

The offer made by the Hindu Religion outfit stated some conditions as follows:

  • The Muslim Mosques Management Committee would have to voluntarily demolish the shrine on its own and
  • Further, asked Muslim Mosques Committee to resolve the matter amicably.

Further, the offer refers to the 2019 Supreme Court judgment in the Ram Janmabhumi case where the court gave the judgment in favor of Hindu Religion parties but asked the government to provide another land to Muslims for a mosque, in return.

The application filed by The Aandolan Samiti through the Advocate Mahendra Pratap Singh has stated that if the Muslim Party will demolish the shrine on its own, a larger piece of land will be provided to the Mosque Management Committee outside the Chaurasi Kos Parikarma circuit of the temple town.

The Application also asked the court to make it a part of an earlier lawsuit for a removal of the mosque from near the temple. The request was pending with the court since December 2020.

The suit has already been filed last year on behalf of Deity Bhagwan Keshav Dev (Lord Krishna) praying for the removal of the Shahi Eidgah (mosque), adjacent to the Shri Krishna Temple complex in Mathura, and further transfer 13.37-acre land to God or Deity.

A writ petition also pending before the Allahabad High Court asked for the removal of Mathura's Shahi Idgah Mosque, allegedly constructed on Krishna Janmabhoomi.

The petition was filed by Advocate Makesh Maheshwari seeking that the temple land should be given to the Hindu Religion outfit and a proper trust for Krishna Janmabhumi Janmasthan be formed, for constructing a temple on the said land.

Since the senior civil judge was on leave, the application was submitted to Civil Judge II Anupam Singh and the court fixed the next hearing on date July 5, 2021.
