Supreme Court hears UP MLA Vijay Mishra bail UP Election

Justice DY Chandrachud: This is not a fit case for bail. Special Leave petition is dismissed. However the plea can be revived once the recording of evidence is over.

SupremeCourt hearing former Uttar Pradesh MLA Vijay Mishra's bail application in view of upcoming elections stating that the efforts are being made to ensure that I do not contest. Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi appeared for Mishra.

Senior Advocate Neeraj Kumar Jain said that, his cases couldn't proceed due to his influence and acquittal is because of the witnesses becoming hostile.

Justice Chandrachud- We have heard both the sides, this is not a case for bail.

We are not inclined to entertain, the petitioner would be at Liberty to move the bail after the recording of the evidences.
