Supreme Court is hearing matter where 12 people, including former officials of the Kamla Nehru Educational Society, revenue officials, an additional district magistrate (ADM) have been booked for fraud, tampering with government documents, damage to public property.

Bench of Justices S Abdul Nazeer and PS Narasimha hearing case where Complaint states that land in Ahmadpur was illegally handed over to the society as freehold property.

ASG Aishwarya Bhati appears for UP: We have got some respite from the HC, can we keep it in July my lords.

Bench: Bit of complication as order setting aside the conversion is a longish order. What is the relief you are seeking? Why isn't the govt coming here?

ASG: We are for the State.

Salman Khurshid for the petitioner: Present case is infructuous since matter at the High Court.

Khurshid: Some relief granted and appellate court is yet to decide in contempt.

Bench: We'll list it after vacation so that there's some clarity. Fresh SLP can be filed.  

Khurshid: After 15th July please.

Bench: Last week of July. 

Counsel: Deeply obliged.
