Supreme Court Religare Finvest Case

Supreme Court hearing plea by Shivinder Mohan Singh, former Fortis Healthcare promoter accused in a money laundering case, challenging Delhi High Court's order of cancelling bail granted to him by trial Court.

ASG Natraj for Delhi Police: Its in v advanced stage, theres assurance by end of this month theyll be able to complete investigation

Sr Adv Siddharth Luthra for Singh: So far as i am concerned, Chargesheet was filed they closed it. On 9 feb 2021 they stated investigation is over qua me and i got bail from trial court. My bail was cancelled

Bench: We said well set aside hc order and Let HC examine order & do something. Mr Mehta didnt agree. We kept matter pending. Again you want time

CJI: one thing youve to remember You shouldnt take sides. It has to be fair investigation. In criminal offences, investigating agencies have to be neutral. Thats what we want

Bench: We kept the matter for hearing of the matter. Were not going to give that much time to complete. 15th December were listing

Sr Adv R Basant for Religare: Another FIR has been registered.

CJI: let them register 100 FIRs

Sr Adv Basant: 200 crores have been paid to silence witness. Itll be dangerous to release this petitioner.

CJI: You want to file proceedings to settle scores. We dont allow that. If they want to book FIR let them book we have nothing to do with that

CJI: Were not going to look into those things. Its a case for bail, well decide whether to grant bail or not. Dont enlarge scope of this matter. This is simple case for bail

J Kohli: when your matter comes you have your own rights & remedies.
