Unnao Rape Case: Kuldeep Sengar Convicted By Tis Hazari Court For Culpable Homicide Not Amounting To Murder

Unnao Rape Case Kuldeep Sengar Convicted

The Tis Hazari court convicted Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the custodial death of the father of the Unnao rape victim. Out of 11, 4 accused were acquitted, while 7 people including Kuldeep Sengar have been convicted. He was convicted under section a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The punishment of the guilty will be debated on 12 March. The court said the murder was not intended, but the victim's father was brutally killed. The court further added that this trial was challenging. Kuldeep Singh Sengar used the technique to protect himself, but CBI did a good job in a challenging environment. Among the seven people who have been convicted in this case, apart from Sengar, two UP police officers are also included, one is SHO and one is Sub Inspector. 

The Names of the Convicted are:

  1. Kuldeep Singh Sengar
  2. Kamta Prasad, Sub Inspector
  3. Ashok Singh Bhadauriya, SHO
  4. Vineet Mishra
  5. Birendra Singh
  6. Shashi Pratap Singh
  7. Jai Deep Singh

The Names of the Acquitted are:

  1. Sharadveer Singh
  2. Shailendra Singh
  3. Ram Sharan Singh
  4. Aamir Khan, Constable

On 20 December 2019, the court sentenced MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was expelled from the BJP, in the case of rape of a minor. The victim's father died in judicial custody on April 9, 2018. The CBI was investigating the allegations of murder of the victim's father on Kuldeep Singh Sengar and many others in this case. According to CBI, on April 3, 2018, there was a fight between the victim's father and accused Shashi Pratap Singh. The CBI said in its charge sheet that the deceased and his co-worker were returning to their village Makhi that day. After which, instead of taking the victim's father to the hospital, he was taken to jail. He was badly injured and died in police custody two days later. Post this incident, the victim tried to commit suicide for justice.

Notably, Sengar has already been found guilty in the rape case and has been sentenced till the end of life. District Judge Dharmesh Sharma also clarified that life imprisonment shall mean imprisonment for the remainder of his natural or biological life in terms of Section 376(2) of IPC.
