Vacation Bench of the Bombay High Court had marathon sitting for over 12 hours extending late into the night

A vacation bench of the Bombay High Court comprising Justices Sharukh Jimi Kathawalla and SP Tavade, had a marathon sitting of 12 hours on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021. The bench was in session from 10;30 A.M. in the. morning to late in the night till 11:15 P.M, with no recess for lunch or dinner during the sitting.

The last case heard by the bench was the petition filed by Maharashtra Government in relation to the CBI enquiry on Param Bir Singhs complaint against former Home Minister. Senior Advocate Rafiq Dada and Additional Solicitor General SV Raju made submissions during the late night after which the bench adjourned the matter to Friday for further hearing.

The bench rose, completing the board which listed 80 matters. The bench heard the case virtually in the light of the unprecedented increase of COVID cases in the country.
