Aid to advocates who test COVID positive to be provided by Karnataka State Bar Council

The Karnataka State Bar Council has taken a decision to grant a sum of Rs. 10,000 to Advocates who are tested positive or COVID 19 and who are in home quarantine and a sum of Rs. 25,000 to those Advocates infected by COVID 19 and currently hospitalized.

The Bar Council held a meeting on 7th May, 2021 and unanimously resolved the amount.

Further, the Karnataka State Bar Council held numerous meetings with the Chief Justice of Honble High Court of Karnataka and has successfully convinced him to direct the State Government for appointment of nodal officers to each taluk and district, to help the Advocates and their families.

The Government of Karnataka has issued a notice for the same.

The note also guided all Advocates to follow the social distancing protocol. It guaranteed all Advocates and their family members that maximum assistance will be provided by the Karnataka State Bar Council during this pandemic.
