[COVID-19]: Functioning Of Delhi HC And All Lower Courts Suspended Till April 04; Period Of Suspension Not To Be Counted In Limitation Period [Read Notification]

COVID19 Functioning Suspended Till April04

In the wake of COVID 19 pandemic, the Delhi HC and all courts subordinate to it have suspended their functioning till April 04, 2020.

All courtrooms and other parts of the court complex, including chamber blocks, as well as the subordinate court complexes, shall remain closed.

For fresh matters of extreme urgency, the Administrative Officer (Judicial) shall be nominated in each district who can be contacted telephonically by the advocates.

The notification also clarified that the period of suspension will be treated as closure of courts for the purpose of Section 4 of the Limitation Act, 1963 and thus limitation will not be applicable for court proceedings from March 23, 2020 till April 04, 2020. 

Urgent matters shall be heard through video conferencing.
