Government Appoints 31 Judicial Officers In Delhi [Read Notification]

Pursuant to the recommendations made by the Delhi High Court, the Government has notified the appointment of 31 judicial officers in Delhi Judicial Services.

The Gazette Notification was issued June 11, 2019, under the signature of the Additional Secretary in the Law Department of the Government of Delhi.

The Notification reads as In pursuance of the provisions of rule 18 of the Delhi Judicial Service Rules, 1970 as amended up to date, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, in consultation with the High Court of Delhi, is pleased to appoint the following 31 candidates as members of the Delhi Judicial Service on probation for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices on being posted by the Delhi High Court, New Delhi.

As per the Notification, the appointments are on purely provisional basis, and subject to the verification of character and antecedents of the candidates from the concerned authorities and verification of their caste certificate/PH category certificate, where ever applicable.

The Notification also provides for seniority of judges as The inter-se seniority of the above named candidates in the Delhi Judicial Service vis--vis other selected candidates will remain the same as assigned to them in the merit list prepared by the Selection Committee in accordance with the provisions of the Delhi Judicial Service Rules, 1970 as amended up to date.
