Mumbai's cybercrime division has arrested advocate Vibhor Anand for allegedly spreading misinformation and false claims around the deaths of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager Disha Salian.

Advocate Vibhor Anand who was arrested from Delhi on October 15, 2020, has been accused of spreading misinformation, maligning the image of a deceased person, trying to spread discontent and mistrust among masses through social media platforms.

He had been posting several social media links and statements where he allegedly spread misinformation regarding Disha Salian and the cause of her death.

He was arrested in Delhi on Thursday, October 15, 2020, and was produced before a court in Mumbai on Friday, October 16, 2020.

Vibhor Anand was arrested in Delhi on the basis of a complaint filed on August 12, 2020, at the Cyber police station in Mumbai for his social media posts which are grossly obscene in nature and outraged the modesty of a woman.

Advocate Vibhor Anand posted theories regarding Disha Salians death and events leading to her death and defamed Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray through his Tweets, Youtube videos, and social media posts.

Advocate Vibhor Anand through Youtube live sessions named Actor Arbaaz Khan, Showik Chakraborty, Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray and said that a party was organized by Ekta Kapoor and Disha Salian was brought to the party which took place just before Disha Salians death and where she was gang-raped and he further said that she had not committed suicide but was pushed from the 13 floors of her fiance Rohan Rais flat in Malad,

Actor Arbaaz Khan soon took legal action in Mumbais Civil Court on the post made by Vibhor Anand which claimed that he was arrested and taken into unofficial custody by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of the investigation.

The court had ordered Vibhor Anand to take down any defamatory content against the actor which is published directly or indirectly by him but despite the order, Vibhor Anand again named Arbaaz Khan in his Youtube post.

Twitter also suspended Vibhor Anands account after receiving complaints of spreading fake news about actor Arbaaz Khan.

Investigation in the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput is still being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
