बाबर औरंगज़ेब के पक्ष में कांग्रेस पहुंची सुप्रीम कोर्ट Places of Worship Act | Exclusive Interview

कांग्रेस ने प्लेसेज ऑफ वर्शिप एक्ट (Places of Worship Act) को लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट का दरवाजा खटखटाया। अपनी याचिका में कांग्रेस ने कहा कि यह कानून देश में धर्मनिरपेक्षता की रक्षा के लिए आवश्यक है, जो संविधान की एक बुनियादी विशेषता है। सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव सुनिश्चित करने के लिए इस कानून का होना अनिवार्य है। इस मामले में पहले से दाखिल याचिकाओं समेत कांग्रेस की इस रिट पर अब 17 फरवरी को सुनवाई होगी। 

पिछले दिनों भाजपा नेता और एडवोकेट अश्विनी कुमार उपाध्याय ने जनहित याचिका दायर कर 1991 के इस कानून की वैधता को चुनौती दी थी। अब कांग्रेस ने उनकी चुनौती के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट में अपनी याचिका दाखिल की है। कांग्रेस ने अपनी याचिका में कहा कि यह चुनौती धर्मनिरपेक्षता के स्थापित सिद्धांतों को कमजोर करने का एक दुर्भावनापूर्ण प्रयास प्रतीत होती है। याचिकाकर्ता इस मामले में हस्तक्षेप करके प्लेसेज ऑफ वर्शिप एक्ट (POW) के संवैधानिक और सामाजिक महत्व को रेखांकित करना चाहता है। कांग्रेस का कहना है कि इस कानून में किसी भी प्रकार का बदलाव भारत के सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव और धर्मनिरपेक्ष ताने-बाने को खतरे में डाल सकता है, जिससे राष्ट्र की संप्रभुता और अखंडता को भी नुकसान पहुंच सकता है।
