Delhi CM Name Announcement: Parvesh Verma, Rekha Gupta, or a Surprise Pick by BJP?

By Aditya Kashyap      19 February, 2025 12:12 PM      0 Comments

After a 27-year-long wait, the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to return to power in the national capital, with the oath-taking ceremony of the next Delhi Chief Minister likely to take place on February 20 at Ramlila Maidan.

The party formed the government in Delhi after defeating the Aam Aadmi Party in the recent assembly elections, securing 48 out of 70 seats. However, the suspense over Delhi’s next Chief Minister remains, as the party has yet to make an official announcement.

After electing their leader on Wednesday, BJP leaders will visit Raj Bhavan the same day to stake their claim to form the government in the national capital. The BJP’s decisive victory of 48 out of 70 seats marks its return to power in Delhi after 27 years. Party general secretaries Tarun Chugh and Vinod Tawde have been appointed to oversee the swearing-in ceremony preparations at Ramlila Maidan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, NDA leaders, Union Ministers, and other prominent figures are expected to attend the ceremony.
