Court Grants Interim Anticipatory Bail to Accused in 5 Crore Cyber Fraud Case Directs Joining of Investigation on Notice Through WhatsApp

New Delhi: The Court of the Additional Sessions Judge-05, Central District, Tis Hazari Courts, New Delhi, has granted interim anticipatory bail to accused Naveen Kumar Mishra in a case involving an alleged cyber fraud of approximately ₹5 crore, allegedly committed by cyber syndicates, registered as FIR No. 161/2025 at Cyber Police Station North.

The matter came up before Sh. Bhupinder Singh, First Link Additional Sessions Judge-05, Central District, Tis Hazari Courts, on 25.03.2026, on an anticipatory bail application.

On the date of hearing, Sh. Parvesh Ranga, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appeared on behalf of the State. Sh. Nitin Kumar and Sh. Gaurav Nautiyal, learned counsel, appeared on behalf of the applicant/accused, Naveen Kumar Mishra.

The Court directed that the matter be listed for further arguments on the next date of hearing. In the meantime, the Court directed the accused/applicant to join the investigation as and when called by the Investigating Officer, after giving due notice.

Counsel for the accused/applicant submitted before the Court that notice may be served upon the accused through WhatsApp, and that such service shall be deemed effective for all purposes. The Court accepted this submission, directing that notice may be served on the WhatsApp number of the accused and also on the WhatsApp number of Sh. Nitin Kumar, Advocate.

The Court further ordered that, in the meantime, no coercive steps be taken against the accused/applicant. A copy of the order was directed to be sent to the concerned Station House Officer and Investigating Officer for information and record.

The matter has been re-notified for 04.04.2026. Dasti copies were directed to be provided to all concerned.
