Pune: The Bombay High Court has dismissed an anticipatory bail application in a case involving serious allegations of evidence tampering following a fatal road accident in Pune.
Justice Manish Pitale heard the matter concerning an anticipatory bail application filed by Arunkumar Singh, whose minor son was allegedly involved in a fatal accident on May 19, 2024, in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area.
Parents Allegedly Bribe Doctors with ₹3 Lakhs to Replace Son’s Blood Sample in Porsche Accident Case
The case arose from FIR No. 0306/2024, registered at Yerawada Police Station, Pune, for multiple offenses, including those under the Indian Penal Code, the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the Motor Vehicle Act.
According to the prosecution, “The investigation revealed that the parents of the child in conflict with the law, who was driving the Porsche car, indulged in illegal conduct by bribing the doctors of the hospital where the blood samples of the car’s occupants were collected for analysis.”

The court noted with concern, “One of the doctors, i.e., Dr. Halnor at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, accepted illegal gratification of ₹3 lakhs from the parents of the child in conflict with the law, who was driving the Porsche car, in order to substitute the blood sample of the mother of the said child in conflict with the law and present it as that of the child.”
The court emphasized the serious nature of the allegations against the applicant, stating, “The allegation against the applicant is that he replaced the blood sample of his minor son, in connivance with the aforesaid doctors and staff, as well as the co-accused parents of the child in conflict with the law, with the blood sample of co-accused Ashish Mittal.”
Dismissing the application, Justice Pitale observed, “The applicant has failed to make out a case for this Court to exercise discretion in granting anticipatory bail to him… This Court finds that the ingredients of the offenses are prima facie made out against the applicant.”
