New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has, on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, announced the launch of a new public information service in Hindi, under which simplified Hindi summaries of selected important judgments and orders will be made available, along with a daily Hindi audio and video bulletin of about 15 to 30 minutes.
According to the press release issued in New Delhi on 14 September 2026, each summary will be accompanied by a link to the corresponding official judgment, so that readers can access the full text alongside the simplified version. The necessary arrangements are stated to be underway, and the service is expected to be rolled out shortly.
The initiative is being introduced for the convenience of ordinary citizens, litigants, and persons with disabilities in particular, so that they may more easily understand the Court's important judgments, their impact, and the further procedure involved, in a language they are familiar with. Its stated aim is to make the sense of access to justice more accessible, and to connect respect for Indian languages with judicial public communication.
The Court noted that the simplified language, together with the audio and video formats, would also benefit those who find it difficult to read or understand lengthy legal documents.
The service will begin in Hindi in the first phase, with work to follow towards extending it, in a phased manner, to other Indian languages as well. This is intended to enable citizens across the country's different linguistic regions to obtain concise and accurate information about the Supreme Court's important judgments in their own languages.
