New Delhi: The Bar Council of India (BCI) on Saturday declared the results of the All India Bar Examination-XXI (AIBE-XXI), with 1,15,805 candidates qualifying out of 1,75,701 who appeared for the examination, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 65.92%.
AIBE-XXI was conducted on 07.06.2026 across 292 examination centres in 60 cities nationwide. A total of 1,75,701 candidates appeared for the examination, comprising 1,10,909 male candidates, 64,784 female candidates and 8 transgender candidates, reflecting wide participation from aspiring advocates across the country. The BCI stated that the examination was conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner, ensuring fairness, transparency and adherence to prescribed norms.
Notably, though results are calculated on the basis of 100 marks with a cut-off of 45 for General category candidates and 40 for SC/ST/PwD candidates, the BCI noted that "after perusal of the Questions paper & result summary, the Monitoring Committee unanimously decided to moderate the result and reduce the qualifying marks by three (3)".

State Bar Council-wise data shows Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh recording the highest number of appearing candidates among the state bar councils, with 13,610 male and 3,178 female candidates, of whom 10,762 male and 2,336 female candidates qualified. Twenty malpractice cases remain pending decision across various State Bar Councils, including Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa (3), Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh (3), and Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana (2), among others.
The Bar Council of India has also announced that the next examination, AIBE-XXII, will be conducted on 29th November 2026, with registrations commencing from 19th August 2026. The tentative schedule is as follows:
